The shoe tree

Bought a new lens for the Lumix this morning. A bit of book shop browsing and then lunch at Sushi Hub. Dishes circulate around diners on a conveyor, a sushi train apparently. Anyway, food was delicious and it was a bit of fun. Over lunch we planned a road trip for the afternoon so I could try out the new lens. My wife’s idea was to take me to see the ‘shoe tree’.

On the Sturt Highway en route to Waikerie is a gum tree adorned with sneakers. Make of that what you will, but Andy was clearly keen to keep his shoes at some point (extra).

Lovely afternoon photographing wetlands, birds and landscapes. Driving home we had to pull over to capture the amazing sunset bathing our wide brown land in pink and gold.
