Russian Orthodox Pomegranates

Adelaide has a reputation as a city of churches. St Nicolas Russian Orthodox Church is one of the most beautiful. I’ve admired the golden orbs that top the spires many times from the road. 

The late afternoon sun and rich blue skies were too good to miss. I headed out through the southern parklands and down Greenhill Road with the intention of photographing this church. I found the dark green boundary fence was fringed with pomegranate trees. It struck me that the pomegranates mimicked the church’s golden orbs that I like so much.
