Aggies #2

When you post a Blip pic about the same flower two days in a row, some might conclude I've got a bit of a thing about Agapanthas. And they'd be right on the money - I do find it hard to stop proselytising about them.
It's not only because they produce such wonderful flowers, but also because they go through a series of unusual and distinct growth stages, both before and after flowering.
This pic shows the flowers in the process of essentially giving up the ghost. However, unlike most flowers, they do it with a bit of style and panache. 
The flowers turn into long, flat lengths of white-and-purple coloured tendrils that look a lot like bedraggled crepe-paper streamers. 
So much more impressive a display than daggy-looking petals that wilt, then drop. 
Somehow a given swathe of Aggies manages to have all of their distinctive growth stages on show at the same time.
