Archerfield House, Archerfield, East Lothian.

Really big house.

Leaving work this evening I was struck by the golden light on the west side of "The Mansion House" as it is known by all who work here.

This is a major part of my territory as head gardener. There is more than the circle of heathers you can see bottom centre.

Until the estate was bought for development as a golf resort, this building was being used as a grain store and was to all intents and purposes derelict.

Part of the planning permission was that it had to be restored, which it has, and it is now a five star hotel.
