In 1961 Austria held its first Scout Jamboree and invited Scouts from all over.

Young Peter Barnet (?) from Sevenoaks obviously went. The morning he wrote this he was feeling a bit homesick, and sounds it, bless him!

The family house it is addressed to in Sevenoaks, by the way, after a little research is seen to have changed hands recently for £2.3 million. So one assumes he wasn't from a poor background.
