Coffee

We used to buy our coffee from the Redemption Roasters café in Long Lane near Smithfield Market, a short walk from our Clerkenwell flat.  We still buy it from them but by mail order.  They claim to be "the world's first prison-based coffee company".  The Aylesbury blend is named after their first roastery site in HMP Aylesbury, a Young Offender Institution, not far from here.  They now roast coffee at The Mount Prison, a men's prison in Hertfordshire.  They train offenders in "coffee industry skills" with the aim to reduce reoffending.  And the coffee is excellent!

My favourite mug reminds me of the seagull that pinched my ice cream cone in Padstow, the summer before last.
