Snow and ice

A magic day. A fiery sunrise - see extra - and early morning entertainment watching the demolition of a chimney at Rugeley power station live on YouTube with my cup of tea in bed! Then out for a walk up and down river. I intended a short walk, ending soon after the snow due at midday. Instead the highlight of the day, seeing the Ferry Meadows otters, meant I spent the best part of an hour watching them (see centre of extra). By then it was snowing hard and really it was just fun to stay out in it. I even made my own snowman when I got back - also in the extras. The main pic is my favourite - of the fresh snow on the icy flood meadows. To round off the day I watched Contagion, since I’ve got a month’s free Amazon Prime. A very prescient movie for 2011.
