Muddy walks!

Set off this afternoon and walked from Chadkirk across the river and along the very muddy river bank to marple, then cut through Marpke and back along the canal to Chadkirk. We’d gone too far along the river to turn back when we got to a stretch where the river bank is collapsing- we judged that it was safe enough to pass but many more storms like this weeks and I don’t think there will be a path left. At the other end was a rather weather beaten laminated paper notice saying the walk would be closed from 24th January 2020 for repairs to the bank! Guessing that like most of the things that should’ve happened in 2020 that work got postponed!
