2016-08-23 (Day 236) Falkirk Clock

I tried to find out some information about this clock, but apart from the fact that it is in Newmarket Street, Falkirk, and that it was made by James Ritchie and Sons of Edinburgh, I came up short.

So - is there any story to this clock? Anybody know?
