Snow at last
I was hoping that it would snow today as forecast, and when I woke up this morning I noticed the sky was that funny colour it always gets before a snowfall so I was sure it would happen. I had a run on the treadmill and then we quickly ate breakfast to get out to the woods for our walk with Xena. As we left home it started snowing, and the snow got progressively heavier as we walked. By the time we turned around and walked back to the car the snow was blowing directly into our faces which wasn't so much fun anymore! Xena loved it and kept trying to eat the falling snow.
Back home we had some coffee and then Gavin set off, he has been needing to get some files from the office for work and decided to do it on a Sunday when the roads were quieter, but he only went about a mile up the road when he realised the snow was too heavy and the roads were not safe so he turned around and came home again. He will have to go another time as he urgently needs those documents.
The garden looked lovely all covered in white, Xena found it all a bit confusing and she made as laugh how she got startled every time a bit of melting snow slid off a tree. She is a bit of a wimp, to be fair.
They have now discovered 77 cases of the South African Covid variant in the UK, and they are now deciding whether they should tighten our borders even further. It's a bit like bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted, we should have tightened our borders months ago. I still don't understand why we see so many planes still flying overhead, there should be very little truly essential travel taking place right now.
