Nicky and her Nikon

A frosty morning

It was another beautiful day with a frosty start. Gavin and I had a good walk with Xena and enjoyed seeing the frozen ponds (see extra) and frost covered heather and bracken. There were many people out walking, some horse riders too, but it never felt too busy as the common is a large open space with plenty of room for everyone. I liked the light on these orange leaves contrasting with the frost covered bracken.

We got a take away coffee on our way home from the walk. I have read many judgemental comments on social media about take away coffee not being essential yet I do think it is essential to support the small local businesses as much as we can. And on that note, if anyone has missed going to the theatre you can watch theatre online for a very reasonable fee, again I feel it is very important to support the arts - we have booked to watch this next month.

While the UK is doing exceptionally well with its vaccination program, I see doctors now want the time gap of 12 weeks between the two doses of the vaccine to be halved. So much is still unknown about the vaccine and immunity - the scientists know that he offers immunity for at least 5 months, so what does that mean? If that is the case they will not have finished vaccinating everyone by the time the first recipients will need the vaccine again as their immunity could be declining. I hope that is not the case and the immunity lasts longer than that. I also was very excited at the thought of getting vaccinated but I have now realised it will make little difference to my daily life until the majority of the population is vaccinated, as you still have to live with social distancing and masks. It won't really change our lives until my whole family is vaccinated, so I cannot get excited about the date I am getting vaccinated but the date when they will be vaccinated.

Tomorrow morning heavy snow is forecast...let's see if we even get a few snowflakes as last weekend the forecast was wrong.
