It’s been one of those grey-ish sorts of days so maybe a b/w post is appropriate. The first is a view of the Cathedral, the second is a view from the Cathedral, along Kirkgate. 

Kirkgate is a fascinating road, according to local historians;

“The narrow, winding street known as Kirkgate has always been of great importance in the life and history of Ripon as it is the main thoroughfare between the commercial world of the Market Place and the Ecclesiastical world of the Cathedral.”
