The high continues...
...to dominate the weather system over Scotland giving us calm and bright skies. Today was wonderful from start to finish - a heavy frost gave way to brilliant sunshine with clouds visible out to the west. What a joy it is to have this bright, though cold spell - it so lifts the spirits and our optimism - the damp weather that seemed to dominate from last autumn and throughout the winter is almost forgotten!
This afternoon was spent in the field, cutting back more of the ivy which is throttling the trees. Six more were tackled and, intriguingly, two at the top end turn out to be Scots Pine. Were they planted by someone in the past or somehow self-seeded? It is impossible to know, although there are no similar trees in the vicinity.
Today's blip was captured from the field as the sun set. It should be nice sitting up there when the weather is warmer.
