Developers don't like it
I was out to capture shots for the Neighbourhood Plan, to illustrate some of the points made, and this was to show our ancient wood and the 200m "wildlife cordon" which the Plan seeks to establish around it.
The village is on the right and you can see that it abuts the cordon, preventing any further development on the north of the village. We have had the draft Plan out for consultation and developers don't like the idea of a seemingly random obstacle to development. But it was a proposal by the Wildlife Trust, an independent and expert body, which lends it appropriate authority.
