More monsters hiding in plain site

It’s a super-cicada year this year, due to all the rain. This is the shell of one of the smaller sub species - they get a lot bigger! The noise from them is absolutely deafening all day and especially come dusk. Have to say - I do love hearing them. Such an iconic sound of summer.
Had a bit of a disaster with work today. It’s not normally a good thing when your laptop starts smoking, is it? Didn’t think so. Wrote off my whole day.
