WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Book and Bedtime

I will have finished this book in half an hour.
I have so enjoyed it and feel a bit sad coming to the end.
I didn't know what it would be like when I picked it up in a charity shop, I just liked the cover - yes I do judge a book by its cover and the first paragraph.

It has bucketed down all day today and Lancashire and Yorkshire will likely get some floods but thankfully we are a bit high up. I feel sorry for all those who have been flooded repeatedly. I know what it's like having been flooded once in Moniaive when the children were young and a river broke its banks.
We got drenched this morning when we took Bella May out.

After a bit of tidying and cleaning this morning (living room and bathroom) I settled down to do more drawing and colouring. This time I drew an actual apple in the flesh. Then I tried to draw a lovely flatish shell which I've had for years. The inside is mother-of-pearl and I was trying to get the effect in my colouring but it's so difficult. In the actual shell there is pale silvery grey, bright greeny hues and pink and gold. Trying to get it looking subtle was hard so I started another but I'll have to finish it tomorrow.
Frank spent the afternoon painting another picture which turned out really well.

Son-in-Law, John's business partner has got Covid. They work together as set builders on Outlander. He tested negative a few weeks ago. They stopped car sharing a while back so hopefully John won't get it. They work mostly outdoors and always with masks on. Fingers x'd.

Tomorrow we'll be watching Joe Biden's inauguration.
Hope it all goes smoothly with no trouble.

Goodnight :-)X
