Half hour on the bike, while watching The Trump Show - Downfall (iPlayer) which follows him during the election, and the aftermath. With a cringe-worthy contribution from Nigel Farage. Makes interesting viewing, and is an excellent record for future historians to study. Will finish the rest tomorrow.
JR went off to (socially distance, outside, walking) meet an ex-colleague who is moving (for a year) with her husband and toddler to Melbourne on Tuesday. And when they arrive, they have to spend two weeks in one hotel room, not leaving it at all. With a toddler? Tough ask. Still, good on OZ, keeping the virus OUT. And good on them putting those tennis players in quarantine too. Though there have been Holywood stars who have been allowed to quarantine in luxury in private (or their own) houses with swimming pools.
Robert took Archie out for a long walk, and he SO needed a bath when he came home (Archie, not Robert). After his bath, he and I settled on the sofa, both wrapped up, him snoozing, me listening to my book.
When JR came home, bearing scones, she set to, filling in a tax form from NZ, which has been requested for some odd reason. But it had to be done online, and fortunately I had learned how to use ‘Mark Up’ to add text and do your signature online, but have never had the need, so it was good to try it out. And, since she’d brought me back a scone, I did it for her. But it took about an hour!
Talking of Archie - which we weren’t - he had a Very Bad Night. He hasn’t had one of those for absolutely ages. Three times he wanted out, and kept persisting, but the second time he was sick on the kitchen rug. He was woofing at the front and back door, running round the house, coming to bed, then running off again. He snoozed fitfully for maybe an hour at a time (so did I), then was off running again. He just could not settle. Was it something he ate? Unlikely, as he was with JR all day, mostly on the lead. There was an apple core that he carried home and then ate in the porch. But that was all - if he’s running around off the lead, you really have no idea what he could be eating.
So nice to see him back to normal in the morning, bringing his toy and wanting to play.
Big Day Tomorrow! (For Joe)
