Nest is best

Tuesday is the day I clean out Duncan's cage and is a fairly major job.

I slowly dismantle his tunnels and walkways until all there is left is his nest. At this point curiosity will get the better of him and he'll come out. On no account will I physically evict him from his nest or fingers will be lost!

Out of the nest I can scoop him up and put him in his exercise ball while I clean out everything else. There is special hamster disinfectant I use called 'clean and safe'. It kills germs but doesn't harm him. On no account use normal household cleaners.
