The Bat Cave
Lockdown 3 - Day 13
Alan was awake early which in turn woke me up, and as it was a beautiful morning I decided to go down to the beach for sunrise which was spectacular (see my extra) - it's the best time of the day as hardly anyone else is around, and this morning I had the beach to myself. I also had the added benefit of a low tide which meant I would walk to part of the beach that isn't usually accessible and where you can see the Bat Cave!
This area has a history of pirates and smugglers and there are many caves along the coast with tunnels running underground. This one is too high to look into, and also has bars across to stop anyone climbing into it.
After breakfast we Face Timed Scarlett as it's her 8th birthday today, and then we had another day of jobs. Yesterday Alan did some painting around the house, and today he's cut the hedges and painted a section of rendering at the side of the front door. I've prepared lamb shanks which have been cooking all day in the slower cooker, made a mushroom soup, and then cleaned the moss off another section of fence in the garden. It was a big job, but it was good to get it done while it was a dry day.
We're both feeling like we've had a good workout and now I've got my feet up and am watching Dancing on Ice.
I’ve sadly learnt of two more Covid deaths this weekend, Rose’s brother and Louise’s friends’ mum, yesterday, it’s so sad. Stay safe!
