Fly Like An Eagle
What else to do on a bright sunny day than visit the river! Armed with my camera, and MrsP her binoculars, we traveled to three different locations, all within a few miles from home • There were lots of ring-billed gulls at the first stop; most were sunning or bathing themselves but a few floated by on small icebergs, heading downriver • The second stop gave us great views of the river but little else except crows • Third time’s a charm proved correct as the last stop gave us three juvenile eagles to enjoy. They rested together on a small sandbar taking turns stretching their legs and wings, but mostly they seemed to enjoy the sun. Two of them eventually left, one perched in a tree across the river and the other flew over our heads - blip! I took so many photos but they were too far away to capture any detail • Blipzen visited long enough this afternoon to clean around the bird feeders. I’m sure he missed his apples and deer food but I don’t want him to become dependent. Unless harsh weather dictates otherwise, I’ve decided to put his treats out every couple of days. Hopefully that makes sense...
