Slippy

D warned me not to go out on the road this morning. He put this note on the front steps as a warning to anyone who might slip on them (that would be either the postie or me, then).

The Great Outdoors was not very inviting today, it has to be said, so this morning I heeded the advice, stayed inside and finally took down the tree. I wrapped the glass baubles in newspaper and wondered what we would say when we unwrapped them in December and read about the Lockdown world of January 2021...

This afternoon I thought I ought to get some exercise, so decided to walk the perimeter of the big field which surrounds our house. I put on my Strava to record how far it was for future reference. It turned out to be almost exactly 2 miles. I had to walk a bit extra as I found a Herdwick sheep caught up in brambles and had to return home for the secateurs to get her free. After a drink from the burn, she ran into the middle of the field, looking for the rest of the flock, but they were up in the opposite corner. I hope they are reunited by nightfall.

This afternoon I had a FaceTime with my family - Mum, Dad, brother and my two nieces who I called by accident, interrupting their schoolwork no doubt :-)
