A walk in the mud.
Yay.. the sun was shining! So much better than yesterday and as a result I felt so much better too!
After some debate we decided that we werent breaking rules to drive down to Sea wood. It's 13 minutes away and we would then have a good long walk. So that's what we did.
We knew it might be a bit muddy as it rained yesterday but didnt think it would be that bad. Wrong! It was very clarty ( to use a local adjective) In other words ....thick sticky mud along the paths.
So, slowgoing in places, but we did as Fletch did, and went off track. A bit easier but still had to be careful.
The distant Lake District hills were not clear but a nice view across the fields to the farm and Birkrigg Moor beyond (see extra)
No wind and it didnt feel too cold and it was sooo good to be out in the woods, despite the mud.
Back home and I felt energised to wash the kitchen floor.
Then my new 'Nifty 50' arrived. I'll be looking forward to trying it out tomorrow!
The camera bag arrived too ( I needed an "in between size" that's my excuse! )
Sat watching Winter Walks on iplayer this evening. This was the one with Selina Scott in Wharfedale which was particular good to watch as we've done the walk ourselves a few times and so lots of lovely reminiscences!
Another one for the list of "Where we want to go when we can"
I'll not dwell on the fact that it may be a while before we can
