Portrait.....
.....of a Kereru, a New Zealand wood pigeon.
I had a lovely stroll through the Christchurch Botanic Gardens with blipper mpp26. We arrived before the crowds, it was calm and overcast good for taking blips of flowers. This Kereru took us by surprise as it flew down and sipped water from a fountain right in front of us - Wow!
Hydrangeas are looking superb at present, many colours throughout the gardens with various forms. The wildflower patch attracting bees with their bright colours from poppies and cornflowers, didn't see one butterfly, perhaps it was too cold, just 16C, not what Kiwi's call summer temps.
Thanks M I had a wonderful time, the gardens never disappoint.
Happy Monday everyone :)
