Oystercatchers all in a row

This is just about a quarter of the row, strung out across the playing field where we went to walk today.  I think they must have been getting worms from the ground.  

My mother would have been 100 years old today, so I've been looking through scans of old photos.  I've put a couple in Extras; one of her graduation day (she was a St Andrews graduate during WWII), and one with me as a one-year old, along with two of my cousins. And I've added one of Mum and friends in St Andrews red togas, out for a charities collection.
