Melting
Today has been fairly chilled and finally , the snow and ice where we live is melting.
(a bit like my wax melts!)
With a bit of luck, I might be able to venture out for some fresh air tomorrow, even if it’s just round the block in the car.
I’ve been asking questions on the ‘framies’ group I’m in on Facebook, to try and figure out if I’m doing the right things and if there’s any more I could do to speed up my progress, especially since I’ve not seen or heard from my physio in 4 weeks!
There have been some great and really encouraging replies; it’s good to have people to talk to who have been there or are feeling the same.
It’s really difficult as everyone’s injuries and recovery times are different, so I appreciate there’s no standard answer.
What I have gathered from all the comments is that daily exercises are a must to try and keep strength and muscle tone up, ready for when the frame is off.
A few people shared their tips and tricks so I will put those into practice as much as I can.
I had figured out already that the biggest obstacle is myself; as much as I want to do stuff, my brain says ‘hey, wait a minute, are you sure?’, which again was a common feeling from the framies.
Evidently, once you overcome this and realise that you can put a bit more weight through the foot, there’s no looking back.
Challenge accepted! ;-)
