arrests

Today I sat and did nothing. It wasn't my plan, but by the end of the day I realized it was what I'd done. This awesome New Zealander did a lot for me and I hung around to be available. I didn't realize just how many hours he was going to put in so only at the end of the day did I realize I could have accomplished multiple things on my list.

I told him about the f* Covid video and he thought it was funny. He has a wife, a house, solar panels, and a Tesla, making it harder to move back to New Zealand now. He's looking into a geothermal heat pump.

Today insurgent after insurgent was found and arrested. I read a piece that quoted them as really pissed at people giving Antifa the credit for what they did.

There is a new social media platform that has many Trump supporters on it called Parler. Google Play removed it yesterday, Apple removed it today. They had too many posts encouraging violence and planning another attack.

We made it through the week. The new administration will have control of the Senate and will be able to accomplish much more as a result. My in-laws have an appointment for their vaccines next Thursday. A neighbor gave me my first epiphany cake and explained it to me. I have everything the man pictured got done. I had a great conversation today with an old friend that might lead to her forming a group to help develop ideas to improve people's lives in Uganda, and to me being a part of the group.

She and I both agree that if you want to help an oppressed group, help them get economic empowerment (a way to earn money). Passing laws and policies is sweet, but ultimately doesn't really accomplish much because they don't get used/enforced. But when people have economic power over their own lives they have the ability to demand better treatment.
