Magical morning
Set out before 9.00 am to make the most of the beautiful morning a)before the snow disappeared and b) before large numbers of people arrived to enjoy the St Ives Estate.
It was icy on the roads and paths on the way there but, that aside, the scenery was truly magical despite the fact there had obviously been lots of footfall yesterday.
We largely decided to go as Wilsden Walker had posted some lovely photos from her afternoon dog walk yesterday. On our way to the top of the estate we met M and R doing exactly the same for the same reason.
A nice socially distanced chat with them was followed by one with our young neighbours who caught us up on the hill.
Went out onto Alter Lane to take in the views across the Aire Valley and as we turned back into the estate we met H with Darcy who was enjoying burrowing her nose into the snow - extra.
The snow in the field was delightfully soft to walk through and we were able to see lots of deer prints crossing to the trees.
Treat ourselves to a take away coffee from the Ivy Kitchen before returning home past the Garden Centre. Not many cars there perhaps not surprising as the car park looked literally like an ice rink!
