Icicles
This sight made me think of these lines :
WHEN icicles hang by the wall,
And Dick the shepherd blows his nail,
And Tom bears logs into the hall,
And milk comes frozen home in pail,
When blood is nipped, and ways be foul,

Then nightly sings the staring owl,
To-whoo;
To-whit, to-whoo, a merry note,
While greasy Joan doth keel the pot.- Shakespeare.
It does make you feel sorry for ‘ greasy Joan ‘ too !
The icicles were hanging off a building in Sherborne- we don’t see them very often down here .
I finished the day by making a clementine, almond and ginger cake which had no flour and no butter but relied on the almonds and eggs to make the cake part . It took ages to cook and even then I didn’t quite get the timing right but I’d definitely have another try at it . The orange is very strong as I had to boil the clementines whole for an hour and then process them whole .
Hope everyone is staying strong and keeps safe . A difficult first week of January .
