Light from the setting sun on the Lammermuirs

A dreich day. Early snow quickly turns to rain. Pretty quiet morning, no bike ride, conditions too treacherous.

In the afternoon the rain goes off for a bit, and my partner and I head head up for our Sunday walk to Swanston. The pavements are pretty treacherous in places. there are only a couple of people out with their kids literally scraping the last bit of sledging out of the melting snow. There must have been a break in the clouds as walking down to Lothianburn, the Lammermuirs are lit up with light from the setting sun. It is only a moment though. If I hadn't stopped then to take as many photos as I could I would not have captured it at all. A couple of minutes later it has all gone.
