Look out, not in

Bogend Wood

This tiny piece of woodland is behind my house, right in the middle of streets and houses but is home to a number of big trees and a variety of wildlife. It's probably no bigger than a couple of tennis courts but this morning I saw squirrels and numerous birds. It's common to meet roe deer in other similar patches of woodland in the town, I think whoever was in charge of town planning should get a medal for ensuring these wildlife corridors survived when the town was built in the 70's and 80's. It's not called Bogend Wood for nothing, it is pretty squelchy! The dogs had to put up with a wee wander here rather than their normal walk as the snow put me off walking far. It's to be -5 tonight so slippy tomorrow I fear.
