Lockdown

I thought this blip was an excellent illustration of life under the present lockdown. I found it on the gate of a shop I passed on the first one of my icy -3° degree walks.
There is nothing else to do but walk and this seems to be echoed by everyone else because after mid morning there is a throng of people walking, walking, endlessly walking, filling the paths, grown ups clutching take away coffees, children wobbling on bikes and dogs weaving their way back and forth as scents take them. It’s almost busier with pedestrians than in the summer and it makes such a difference when the sun is shining and shining it is today lifting the mood and making the daylight stay that bit longer.
However there is a weather warning on my phone for snow and ice overnight which may change the scene tomorrow. It will be a return to ice grippers on shoes and out with the walking pole.

It says it all at the start of 2021 when talking to a friend for 15 minutes through the railings is the event of the day.
