Some Weird "Icicles"

The snow looked pretty coming off the roof,
it looked to be in fine fettle.
I asked Merrick to pose for me...
but he refused to get under the metal.

Isn't this strange? It seems like the weight alone would be enough to take the "strip" to the ground, but they just seem to hang on. I think if the sun would have come out, or it would have been a few degrees warmer...they would have come crashing down.
