Snow Tourism

After shopping for my mother and her carer, I drove to her house to deliver three big bags full of groceries, and help shovel a path to the house through the new snow.

Since last weekend, "no parking"-signs have been put up along my mother's street. It does not make a difference. Hundreds of cars from as far away as Mannheim and Düsseldorf were parked along the streets, on forest roads, farm tracks, and even fields. Despite the dreary weather, people went walking, sleighing and skiing all over the fields and in the forest. This shot was taken at random and shows people walking across a winter wheat field near my mother's village.
