suspended

Thank goodness that in lockdown we are still able to go out for exercise, and even if we have to walk locally, we have some wonderful places to explore and enjoy. We are allowed to go with one other person as well, so not only the pleasure of a walk, but company too :-)

This morning the roads were quite icy but once the sun came up, the temperature rose a little and made it safer underfoot. Our walk went along the course of the Cairn Valley railway from Dunscore towards Moniaive, and back onto the road via this small suspension bridge across the Cairn. We had our flask of tea in a field while watching a red kite soaring above the valley, and we saw plenty of deer in the fields.

I had another wee wander around the fields behind our house this afternoon, returning to a glorious technicolour sunset. I could see smoke rising from the chimney so I knew I would get a warm welcome and a cup of tea :-)
