Came across this today

So very true.

Another cold day but not as icy as it has been. did our usual dog walk only this time on a different field  which we haven't been on lately as we were not able to use the car park of late because they have had the covid testing bus on there and loads of visiting cars.

I have been trying to think what to get my granddaughter Autumn for her birthday, I've spent ages this afternoon trawling through gifts for a 7 year old, and it's difficult with only seeing them three times this year you don't know what they are in to, so I have plumped for a watch for her and a Unicorn which you can paint and then wipe it clean and do a different pattern on it over and over again, then comb its main and put hair slides in it. I think she will love both, well I hope so. Not sure how I will get them to her with the latest lockdown because my son lives quite a long way away and I won't deliver to their mothers, even if I knew where she lived. But He has moved to the Doncaster branch of Amazon which is much nearer to home for him and half the time to get there so maybe he will call one evening on his way to work.

Tonight we were watching an audience with Jimmy Tarbuck  that I recorded the other night, what a great comedian he was, and what a great show a smashing evenings entertainment, good to have a good laugh, he puts todays so called funny men (not in my opinion) to shame, theres only a few who I can honestly say make me laugh these days.

Well no surprise to us that we now have full lockdown everywhere we have been waiting for it to come. this should have happened months ago until this virus was fully under wraps, they should have shut down the airports at the beginning only letting in people who lived here and putting them into quarantine, but no they just let people come and go. They knew about this virus spreading in January last year but did the usual, "oh it won't affect us" Did they really think that "everyone" would be sensible at Christmas and New Year, and not just the few of us and that there would be no parties and get togethers. Like I have said before they don't live in the real world all they think of is the economy and now what is happening it's made it even worse for big and  little businesses, my heart goes out to people struggling and those who will go under. But to those finding another way to keep themselves above the water line I say" good on ya"  we will do our best to support you. I worry too about the Zoo's who rely on visitors for income, if they have no income they can't feed the animals and eventually they could have to make that decision no one wants to make. Where will it all end... -  my rant is now over 

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions re the little gift in the apples. although it is more likely as lou lou said a cup warmer it's actually too small for any cup so it's going to be an apple purse to keep it safe in the tuck box. I am going to knit large ones for my mugs, if I can ever find a pattern for them.
