Caterpillar

At least that’s what the snow on this holly looked like, if you squint your eyes in the sun.

Woke up to a couple of centimetres worth of snow this morning. Beautiful sunny day and the snow was almost fluffy. You could just about make out individual snowflakes.

Reminded me of standing in Red Square in Moscow on Christmas Day 1975 as my jacket slowly turned white with individual snowflakes: not clumped together into bigger flakes. But that’s another story.

Our son and I and the dog went up Blackford Hill. The packed snow from all the sledging had turned much of the hill into a sloping ice rink. Most of us walked by the grassy clumps.

Still, looked lovely with clear view to Ben Lomond in the west and Berwick Law to the east. The coastline looked free from snow but anywhere inland glistened.
