We're all doomed!
Not what you expect to find amongst the blooming heather unless you are in New Zealand.
We have travelled along the Geothermal tourist route from Napier to Taupo.
It is hot here again after the cooler coast and in more ways than one.
We are in the geothermal central zone of North Island. We visited a place called Craters of the Earth just north of Taupo and the steam was rising from craters in the ground, some as noisy as a train and we could see mud boiling. More of this to come no doubt in Rotorua.
Tonight we are in Tongariro National Park, the volcano you can see is Mt Ngauruhoe, but you probably recognise it as Mt Doom!
A very different New Zealand this, not sure if we are safe having already experienced two earthquakes!
