Sheep

After the excesses of the past couple of days, a dry sunny day was just what was needed. Mrs C is doing the AYWMC course and wanted to go where there was some snow to get some photos. I suggested the Langdales but we had not even got as far as Ambleside before encountering a traffic jam. A quick switch to plan B saw us heading up to Kirkstone Pass. In spite of the sign saying “Road Closed” at the bottom, it was obvious from the amount of traffic in both directions that it was perfectly passable. But, my God, it was busy at the top - every lay-by and car park was chock full. Dropped down the other side a bit and spotted this sheep grazing at the side of the road. Managed to pull in nearby as Mrs C thought it would make an ideal subject. I just snapped her carefully composing her photo - i.e. trying to get the sheep to look at her!
Back home for lunch, but weather remained fair, and we still felt a bit restless, so went for a walk around Kendal. A nice 5K(ish!) along the river, followed by a coffee to warm up. Can’t verify the exact distance walked as Mrs C somehow managed to stop the Strava app after we’d only covered a few steps and only discovered this when we stopped for the coffee!
With all chocolate now consumed, only a few scraps of turkey left and the weather promising to be dry, cold and sunny for the rest of the week, I see no reason why we can’t get ourselves back to full fitness before the New Year dawns.
