High Voltage Insulators

Once upon a time, as young boys, I and my brother were visiting my cousin.

We three were doing stuff by the railroad tracks and found ourselves near a big electrical sub-station, both of which were way out of bounds.

The huge wires and transformers were humming deeply; we could hear the power crackle into the air from the wires and we could feel the electricity prickle on our skin.

In truth it scared me to the core, but of course I could not show it.

The childhood experience is with me still having left quite an impression (more like a dent that has yet to be pounded out!).

Getting close enough for a photo of these humongous high voltage insulators is, for me, twisting the tail of an old dragon.
