The next adventure

Nice day for a white wedding?

My usual early rise but for once this changeable week, it was a beautiful sunny, clear blue sky, day. After opening my birthday cards (21 again! you guessed right Chauvin!) we drove north for over an hour to a beautiful area with views over the glass mountains. Our purpose in visiting was to see my daughter's wedding venue, due to take place next year. We could not have asked for a better day! The sun was hot, at times too hot! (Sorry to all those in freezing Scotland- I'll be there soon!) The skies were blue with some amazing clouds and the panoramic views were stunning!
The venue is beautiful, the house itself will be a special place to get ready and then to welcome guests, who will be bowled over by the views and location. We only had a short time there as a bridal party were due to arrive, so after taking hundreds of shots (I won't be allowed on the day as I'll be 'mother of the bride') we left and headed to Montville. A quaint wee mountain town, full of coffee and craft shops. After a reviving ice tea- about 30 degrees now so too hot for my usual coffee- my daughter bought me some beautiful opal earrings to celebrate the day.
Off along the ridge for ten minutes to a lovely restaurant for a delicious lunch with more amazing views.
We finished the day with even more bubbly and a french chocolate and macadamian torte- so very naughty but so very yummy!
A lovely day with family- such a shame my other daughter (and dear dad) couldn't join us but we will all be together in December at the wedding in Edinburgh- exciting times!
