LD 275. Village Christmas tree.
Not so much a village now as “back in the day.” Here, like many areas, villages run into one another. Fortunately we’re close to the edge of the built up area and open countryside. It’s a popular commuter area.
The Christmas tree is in Quarry Park as we call it. Stone was quarried here to help build Edinburgh’s new town in the 1830s, (transported by canal), and local public buildings in the 1850s. The nearby church was built in 1846-47.
It was cold late afternoon when we went out. And the moon was clear. Very few folks about.
My wife did a pre Christmas spring clean in the morning. And I finished my limited wrapping.
Family are well. Teachers in the family are now off for Christmas. And older son is now tidied up at work too - 9 months home-working; he needs a break.
275 days of lockdown restrictions today. And Covid continues to run away in U.K. 39237 new cases, 744 deaths. More new restrictions in England. Scotland 1190 cases reported today.
