The Star in the East

The star in the east belies the horror of this Covid virus which has developed a new variant making it 70% more transmissible and this just in time to put people’s plans into a new level of disarray at Christmas. I feel so sorry for those in England under the new lockdown and waiting to hear what Nicola has in store for us here in Scotland. I always felt though that Christmas should have been cancelled at the outset in the knowledge that the vaccine is here and will be rolled out within the next few months.

It has been another very quick day, making the most of the few hours of daylight. Presents were delivered in the morning to Daughter#1 at the gallery as she will spend Christmas up north in Cullen with her partner. In the afternoon there was a short lunch meeting with Granddaughter#2, suitably unhugged, and her boyfriend to hand over more presents. It was lovely to see her looking well and happy and Covid free.
