Gatepost

Weeks ago, MrM ordered four doors, then temporarily out of stock, but due for delivery on 18 December. A couple of days ago, an email - the doors were in transit and on schedule...

Having eaten very little meat this year, we decided to have lamb for Christmas dinner, from a farm where animals are raised by traditional methods and treated well. Our order is ready and can be collected today, tomorrow or Saturday, but we'll go today so as not to miss the door delivery. The farm shop is in Coquetdale, the forecast is good, so we decided to combine the shopping trip with a walk in Holystone Woods. Not the wall-to-wall sunshine as forecast, so we sat and ate our picnic in the van before setting off. And not a circular walk, as Forestry Commission tree felling meant that part of the track was closed. But we enjoyed a very pleasant walk all the same. This place always always seems quite magical, and sometimes you can sense the spirits of the woods watching from behind the trees! Hard to choose which photo to blip (hence the extras), but I like this old gate gatepost, with one hinge pin still attached. The sun was already going down behind the hill as we got back to the van.

Home to discover another email concerning the doors. There has been a 'small delay', they will keep us informed. We have a sneaky suspicion that they are on a lorry that is attempting to travel from Europe. Ho hum!
