Footprints in Photos

I enjoy Blip, love looking at all your photos, I enjoy feeling a response to an image that I have never viewed with my own eyes. I also think it gives me great inspiration to keep learning and try new things. Soak up others' artistic flare.

I've seen a few 'about town' blips recently. Some great portraits of strangers on benches, or workers going about their duties. My favourite photo is one I took of a man and his dog at a musical festival I went to when I was about 15, but I've lost my balls somewhat to take these sort of photos. Taking a strangers' shot is a fine art. To ease myself in gently I went for a generic outdoors photo, but it was at least far enough away from home to count as progress.

Im going to stick at it and hopefully grab some portraits, which I generally prefer to take. I have been asked to do some photos for someone's website and their profile photo for their editors page in a magazine on Monday. I don't know anything about this lady but Im realising that we have to try scary things in order to progress. I have taken the plunge a few times recently and felt I've moved forward and learned something, so hoping this will be similar. Its all experience isn't it. Im trying to learn to be less of a scaredy cat.

Fab day today. We went the the 90p cinema and L is finally over her fear. She sat there like such a good happy girl. In fact all 3 of them did. We were next to a poor lady with her 2 young boys who was clearly feeling stressed about the way they were behaving. I think she peaked too soon when they became unsettled and pulled all her tricks out of her bag at once. Sweets, popcorn, ipad. Kids smell your fear dont they, and before long they were fidgeting and crying and the lady left in a huff with them. Its a horrible experience when you feel the pressure of your kids ruining other cinema goers viewing. Often you think everyone is looking at you and judging you, when really they're not bothered. We definitely all have days like that. I didn't actually think they were making that much of a scene but Im sure it's ruined their poor mum's day.

Food shopping was delivered this afternoon, I have ridiculously overindulged. I would roll off the sofa like a weeble if I wasn't worried about exploding ;)
