The odd couple

Sorry, another boring swan blip, snapped on my way to the market. A minute or two after this, I was passing a small buddleia bush at the end of the bridge and heard a high peeping sound, some bird's warning signal. Different enough for me to stop and peer into the bush where I glimpsed a tiny bird - wondered at first if it was a wren (that kind of size) but much too pale. Oh, oh, I think it was a goldcrest, though I never got a good look at it and didn't see the top of its head. I was quite excited, for a non-twitcher. Tried to take a photo, but I couldn't see what I was focussing on as I didn't have my specs on. Only caught a blurry image of its belly as it disappeared upwards. (See severely cropped extra).

The reason I wasn't wearing my specs is due to the revelation that if you don't wear them they don't steam up due to mask wearing. Who'd have thought, eh?
