Gold On Blue

A welcome change in the temperature, sunshine and blue sky in which I could enjoy a pleasant photo walk. Not bad for December.

I took advantage of the melting ice to get some reflections in the water going under/behind, yet the gold colour reflecing off the ice. The patch of blue sky and ice provide a useful contrasting element.

I took two shots, one focusing on the reflection and a second on the ice. I combined them in Photoshop so both are in focus. It was a bit fiddly where there are broken patches of ice on the water surface. I could have used a third shot focused on the very foreground.

Maybe the shadow at the top is too dark, but the light was quite strong.
