Magical Light

H and I walked the Bayfield Bird Walk, one of my favourite routes.  It was below freezing when we set off and misty, which created a muffled, ethereal world around us and completely changed how everything looked.  Trees loomed up at us through the mist and distant views were obscured from sight.  We stopped for coffee in the Glaven Valley and were treated to the short-lived appearance of the sun trying to break though.  This lone tree in the flooded valley was a perfect subject to photograph.

It was one of those rare mornings when we felt privileged to be able to enjoy nature at its most beautiful and most mysterious.
