Carry That Weight

Another busy day today, starting and finishing in different locations! While Mrs C had a Zoom meeting this morning, I went for another session with my trainer. As previously mentioned, his new gym is not up and running yet but some the equipment has been set up in an empty industrial unit so a good workout can be had. The only drawback is that there are no creature comforts whatsoever - bare walls, dusty concrete floor and no heating! Hence the hoody (and several other layers underneath) for extra warmth. I must confess the picture is a bit of a cheat though - for the first exercise I had been pressing 50kg but with the trainer spotting me he couldn’t be taking photos as well! However, the second exercise was done with lower weight but more time under tension so I asked him to grab a picture during the first couple of reps and then get back in position for when I reached failure point!
After lunch it was down to Chester. A replacement for the washer dryer that exploded last month is due to be delivered tomorrow. We were advised it could be any time from 7am to 7pm so thought we’d better go down today. As it happened, we had only just arrived when a text was received narrowing the time slot to between 2.15pm and 6.15pm. Hoping it’s nearer the beginning of that slot, otherwise it’ll be another night here in the flat, which will rather put the kibosh on Wednesday’s plans, if we have to spend the morning heading back up the motorway to Kendal. Still, it will give me a chance to check up on mum and make sure she’s still coping. And if the weather stays dry (and the temperature above freezing) I could always squeeze a 5K in before lunch so the day wouldn’t be just hanging around waiting for the delivery.
Got to be back by Friday though - another PT session booked in for then. Having missed out on training during November, and the normal gym not reopening until January, I want to try and fit in as many sessions as possible before Christmas.
I want to be nice and fit before succumbing to the inevitable festive feasting excesses.
