Rudolph Takes Up Residence

Tess has always wanted one of these wooden reindeer ornaments, the standing joke (given my total DIY incompetence) being that I would make her one one of these years.

Anyway, this year Kate bought her one for her birthday and this afternoon I put it together without sawing any antlers or other deer parts off. As you can see, Rudolph soon made friends and made himself at home.

While I was doing this, Tess was decorating the tree and we've put up other decorations so the place is looking very festive. Probably the earliest we've had the decorations up but somehow this year I think everyone feels the need for as much festive cheer as we can squeeze out of the month.
