We didn't get the thundersnow though

Yes, we woke up to snow, as many people did, but to blip a pretty snowy garden picture would not be true to what really happened today. The snow was already thawing as we got up and it was dark, damp and cold. We couldn't even see the hills for the cloud. Gradually through the day we had sleet, rain and then wind. It didn't ever seem to get light. Now it is stormy, with an easterly wind and rain. A dreadful day. 

This is a photo taken through my window at 4pm - reflections through the rain hammering on the glass and catching the lights from house across the road. (If you look large it is an almost 3D effect)
